Pheasants Forever Television, entering its fifth season, is a successful weekly television show hosted by Ron Schara for fans of the pheasant, pheasant hunting and conservation. The half-hour weekly program is a variety show featuring the pheasant as the star. The series highlights the national Pheasants Forever organization, its members, its habitat projects and its hunting adventures wherever ringnecks fly.

A production of Ron Schara Productions which airs on Outdoor Channel, Pheasants Forever Television was honored with the award for Best Bird Hunting Footage at Outdoor Channel's 9th Annual Golden Moose Awards. The Golden Moose Awards were created to recognize and honor producers of the best outdoor programming appearing on Outdoor Channel during the previous year.

"Bringing the story of Pheasants Forever and the joy of pheasant hunting to the viewers of the Outdoor Channel has always been a rewarding task," Schara said, "Now, it's made more special by receiving a Golden Moose Award. Makes me grateful that I carry pheasants in my game bag and not moose."

Five-time Emmy winner, Ron Schara, of Ron Schara Enterprises, will return as Pheasants Forever Television's host and executive producer. A PF life member and life-long pheasant hunter, Schara has spent over three decades as a champion of the outdoors through his various television and radio shows and work as an outdoor writer. With a story teller's angle and soft-spoken delivery, Schara is probably best known for his classic closing line, "Introduce a kid to the great outdoors." Joining Schara in hosting the show is his trusty black Lab, Raven. "To join the program lineup on Outdoor Channel is an exciting move for us as well as ringneck hunters around the country," Schara said, "For the first time, lots of bird hunters will learn that hunting without habitat is no hunting at all."
